Post 207 is expanding our reach to reflect the community we serve. We are committed to instill positive
character traits, leadership, and life skills to help our cadets make ethical
choices to achieve their full potential as future public servants.
Who can
join the post?
Explorer’s
is open to boys and girls from 14 years of age (and completed 8th
grade) up to 21 years old. There are no
residency requirements.
What will I learn about as a Fire
Explorer?
As
an explorer you will be introduced to the many facets of the fire service, including;
Basic Firefighting Skills, Emergency Medical Care, Hazardous Materials and
Technical Rescue Response, Auto Extrication, assist CFD staff with Public
Education Activities, participate in Local and State Special Events and be
allowed to ride-along with CFD Engine and Squad Companies.
How
much does it cost to participate in Fire Explorers?
There
is no cost to join Post 207. All
explorers are provided full firefighting protective gear at no cost. Fire Explorers routinely purchase post
t-shirts and sweatshirts to wear during training sessions. Explorers are required to wear a uniform for
formal, or public, events. These costs
are shared between the individual and the post to maintain affordability.
