What does a brownout mean to you!

Champaign City Council and City Staff are browning out Eng. Co. 154 beginning Jan 1, 2012. A brownout is a closure of a fire company. In Champaign, this equates to reducing daily staffing by 10% and reducing the number of fire trucks in the City of Champaign by 11%-EVERYDAY.
What does this mean to you as a citizen?
-Longer response times for fire trucks, not only in West Champaign but throughout the City
-Less firefighters on scene to mitigate hazardous situations
Why is this important?
-A fire doubles in size every minute, http://youtu.be/5GMhfLamERc with less fire companies available, minutes will be added to response times, putting lives and property at a greater risk.
-Longer responses for emergency medical services. Our fire trucks are equiped with advanced life saving equipment. When the human body is without oxygen, seconds count!
